Wrap-n-mat
A sandwich bag and eating mat all in one - and it's reusable!
It's always a dilemma - what to use to wrap up sandwiches? Cling film and sandwich bags are made from plastics and all have to be thrown away, not good at all from an environmental viewpoint. But leaving sandwiches loose is out of the question - all you get then is either mayonnaise spread around your lunch box if you're lucky or a squashed mess if you aren't.
But fear not, help has arrived! Wrap-n-mat is a sandwich wrap and eating mat all in one. Made from a fabric outer with a food-safe plastic lining and sealed with velcro you can wrap up your sandwiches and then unfold it and use it as a mat to eat your lunch wherever you like. Then simply wipe off the plastic, or wash the whole thing in warm water, and you're ready to go again!
So how does it fare in practice? The answer is very well, as long as you only eat pretty standard size sandwiches! Any more than two slices of bread plus filling and it probably won't be big enough, and the same problem for rolls. It is possible to get a Grande Wrap, but I haven't seen any stocked on UK sites, so they would probably have to be ordered direct from the US.
On the other hand if you don't need to fit in anything bigger then they're definitely worth getting - at around £4.25 they won't break the bank and you'll save in on cling film in the long run! Plus it solves any worries you may have about dirty table tops.
